The position is remote or based in San Antonio, TX or Bloomington, MN, with ~10% international collaboration and up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in related field from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years professional experience in speech-language pathology, literacy, or related fields.
• Clinical experience administering or interpreting standardized assessments.
• Strong knowledge of test development, measurement, and psychometrics.
• Ability to apply AI and emerging tech to research and product work.

Responsibilities

• Lead research plans for new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide scientific leadership in speech-language pathology and related areas.
• Define product scope and ensure designs are scientifically sound and market-relevant.
• Lead item development and evaluation using research and clinical expertise.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and technologies to development and workflows.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and stimuli.
• Support product commercialization with scientific input for training and materials.
• Represent Pearson through conferences, papers, and scholarly activities.
• Maintain flexibility to collaborate with international colleagues (~10%), travel ~10%.

Education

Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

5+ years experience in speech-language pathology or related field

Clinical experience with standardized assessments

Test development and psychometrics knowledge

Digital fluency and AI awareness
