Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
• 5+ years professional experience in speech, language, literacy, or early childhood
• Clinical experience administering or interpreting standardized assessments
• Strong knowledge of test development, measurement, and psychometrics
• Ability to translate scientific evidence into strategic recommendations
• Strong digital fluency and ability to apply AI in research and product development

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans for new product development and portfolio priorities
• Provide subject-matter expertise in speech-language pathology, literacy, achievement, and early childhood assessment
• Help define product scope and assessment design aligned with customer and business needs
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research and best practices
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to research and product development
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and scoring resources
• Support product commercialization and adoption with scientific expertise
• Represent Pearson in scientific leadership activities
• Maintain flexibility to collaborate with international colleagues (~10%)
• Travel approximately 10%
