Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, or related field.
• 5+ years professional experience in speech-language, literacy, achievement, or early childhood.
• Clinical experience administering or interpreting standardized assessments.
• Strong data analysis, psychometrics, and measurement knowledge.
• Ability to translate evidence into strategic recommendations balancing rigor and business.
• Digital fluency and curiosity with AI and emerging tech.
• Scholarly contributions through conferences or publications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans for new product development and portfolio priorities.
• Provide subject-matter and scientific leadership in speech-language pathology and related areas.
• Define product scope and design alignment with clinical needs.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research methods.
• Collaborate with psychometrics and research teams to interpret findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI in assessment development and innovation.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and stimuli.
• Support product commercialization with scientific and clinical resources.
• Represent Pearson in scientific leadership roles and publications.
• Maintain flexibility to collaborate with international colleagues (~10%).
• Travel approximately 10%.
