Job description

Senior Learning Experience Designer, Live & Blended Learning, 3372-1

About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Learning Experience Designer to support the design and evolution of high-impact onboarding leadership experiences. This role is best suited for someone who is exceptional at designing live, instructor-led and blended learning experiences, and who understands how to create meaningful practice, peer learning, reflection, and behavior change across both in-person and virtual environments. The designer will join work that is already in progress, with existing strategy, research, content, pilot experiences, and participant feedback available as inputs. They will be expected to bring strong independent learning and experience design judgment to those inputs, challenge assumptions when appropriate, and translate them into cohesive, pilot-ready experiences. This is a senior, hands-on design role. The person should be equally comfortable thinking through the architecture of an experience and building the assets required to deliver it, including presentation decks, scenarios and exercises, facilitator guides, participant materials, and supporting tools.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end design of live, virtual, and blended learning experiences for managers and senior leaders, from design concept through pilot-ready delivery
  • Translate business objectives, learner needs, research, existing content, and stakeholder input into clear learning outcomes and compelling experience designs
  • Redesign an existing in-person leadership onboarding experience to strengthen how new leaders build business context, cultural fluency, relationships, and judgment
  • Evolve an existing in-person practice-based leadership experience into a virtual format, preserving the value of realistic practice, peer learning, reflection, and judgment-building while designing intentionally for the virtual modality
  • Design realistic scenarios, simulations, exercises, discussions, and reflection moments that allow participants to practice applying concepts to ambiguous, real-world leadership situations
  • Determine the appropriate structure, sequence, flow, timing, facilitation approach, and content-delivery strategy for each experience
  • Create polished, pilot-ready learning assets, including facilitator and producer guides, presentation decks, participant materials, worksheets, scenarios, exercises, and supporting resources
  • Apply strong visual and information design to learning materials so complex ideas are communicated simply, clearly, and engagingly
  • Prototype and test design concepts quickly, using participant feedback, stakeholder input, and pilot learnings to iterate toward stronger solutions
  • Partner closely with strategists, product leads, subject matter experts, and other designers while independently driving the learning-design work
  • Design with a global audience in mind, creating experiences and assets that can scale and be adapted across regions where appropriate
  • Provide recommendations beyond the initial design brief when research or design judgment suggests a stronger approach
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in learning experience design, instructional design, leadership development, or a closely related field, with significant experience designing for experienced professional and leadership audiences
  • Deep expertise designing facilitated, instructor-led learning, including both in-person and synchronous virtual experiences
  • Strong command of adult learning, experiential learning, human-centered design, and behavior-change principles
  • Demonstrated ability to design learning through practice, including scenarios, simulations, role practice, peer consultation, case-based learning, and facilitated discussion
  • Strong experience taking complex or ambiguous business and leadership concepts and turning them into simple, engaging learning experiences
  • Excellent visual communication skills and the ability to independently create polished presentation decks and participant-facing learning materials
  • Demonstrated experience creating facilitator guides and designing experiences that can be successfully delivered by facilitators other than the original designer
  • Ability to work from incomplete or evolving inputs, exercise strong judgment, and make progress without requiring highly prescriptive direction
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, including experience working with senior leaders and subject matter experts
  • Experience working iteratively, prototyping quickly, incorporating feedback, and improving designs based on user and stakeholder signals
  • Ability to manage multiple interconnected workstreams and deliver high-quality work in a fast-moving environment
Nice To Haves Or Preferred Skills
  • Experience designing leadership development, executive education, manager development, or new-leader onboarding
  • Experience designing learning around judgment, decision-making, culture, feedback, or other topics where there is not always a single “right” answer
  • Experience converting successful in-person experiences into virtual experiences without simply replicating the classroom design online
  • Experience designing global learning experiences for participants across different functions, regions, and cultural contexts
  • Strong graphic or presentation design capabilities and proficiency with common creative and prototyping tools
  • Facilitation experience, even if facilitation will not be the primary responsibility of this role
