Job summary

The role focuses on designing digital content, maintaining field tools, and guiding freelance creators, while staying current with EdTech trends and research.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of full-time work experience in instructional design or related field.
• Knowledge of learning science and curriculum development.
• Experience applying learning science and digital learning methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with audience-centric analysis.
• Interpersonal savvy for problem-solving and building rapport.
• Ability to develop authoring talent and content creators.
• Ability to manage long-range projects with multiple partners remotely.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and LMS tools.
• Experience with applied AI in education.
• Commitment to continuous professional improvement and growth mindset.
• Educational background in instructional design/learning design or related field.
• Experience designing inclusive content for diverse audiences.
• Teaching experience in higher education.
• Experience in Advanced Computing and/or Math course areas.

Responsibilities

• Inform and update author content and pedagogy with universal and portfolio-specific perspectives based in learning theory.
• Serve as the student journey and discipline-level learning design expert.
• Collaborate with editorial, business strategy, marketing, authoring, content creation, and production colleagues.
• Review content against editorial strategy and standards; update plans as needed.
• Ensure alignment and consistency across the field.
• Design digital content to improve learning based on platform functionality, UX, and usage data.
• Design and advocate for accessibility, equity, and inclusivity improvements.
• Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and team members in curriculum development.
• Establish and maintain field tools and guidelines for content creation.
• Support freelance and vendor content creators for quality and timely delivery.
• Develop new authoring talent and understanding of digital products and tools.
• Apply emerging learning trends to innovate and improve designs.
• Stay current with EdTech and learning science research and standards.
