Job summary

Cengage is seeking a senior leader to drive content strategy and portfolio development for higher education. You will own investment proposals, budgets, and long-term plans, partnering with Marketing and Research to align with market and customer needs.

You will recruit and collaborate with authors and subject matter experts to strengthen the program portfolio. The role demands strong communication, financial acumen, and the ability to influence across diverse teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
Minimum 3 years in portfolio/product management, product development, sales, marketing, or other relevant management role.
Ability to articulate vision and strategy and help team understand impact on business success.
Strong financial analysis and modeling skills; understands business metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse, senior audiences.
Willingness to travel ~20% of time.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Adobe Acrobat, AI tools, SAP.

Responsibilities

Own the difficulty content strategy and roadmap, including new course entry investment proposals.
Manage portfolio content budget (P&L) to lead a profitable line of content offerings.
Develop short- and long-term strategic business plans aligned with priorities.
Evaluate data, financial metrics, customer feedback, and market trends to guide decisions.
Lead cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Research, and Editorial teams.
