Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Area Transformation Industrial Engineer to support production in the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ, to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer.

Industrial Engineers are responsible for labor performance analyses, process and value stream mapping, line balancing, capacity planning, manpower planning, factory layouts, simulations, strategic planning, project management, continuous improvement, and more.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship with ability to obtain Interim DoD Secret Clearance
• US government security clearance required prior to start; Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial, Systems, or Manufacturing Engineering
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience with factory layout and work cell design/optimization
• Experience with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods
• Experience with project management
• Experience with CAD software
• Six Sigma certifications
• Leading teams and ability to influence without authority

Responsibilities

• Support factory leadership and cross-functional partners to advance Lean Transformation initiatives
• Identify strategic investment opportunities and lead critical projects for make centers
• Create process flows, value stream maps, Pareto charts, and CAD drawings to visualize manufacturing processes and metrics
• Contribute to roadmaps focusing on factory capacity and technology insertion
• Collaborate with project managers to improve factory footprint and equipment layouts
• Support proposals, business cases, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses
• Learn industrial engineering tools for future-state forecasting
• Understand defense industry mission requirements while meeting cost, quality, and schedule targets
