Job summary

RTX is seeking an Industrial Engineer II to support the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, Arizona to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer.

Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in STEM and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience unless blocked by local laws.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
• Experience with Lean, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design or Process Optimization.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance prior to start date; ATF clearance may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Model factory operations with process flows, value stream maps, Pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams and CAD drawings.
• Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to reduce waste and improve cost, quality and on-time delivery.
• Draft infrastructure improvement plans and plan integration of new products and equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute projects improving factory performance.
• Support new production contracts and product integration efforts.
