Job summary

United World College-USA seeks an Associate Head for Teaching and Learning to lead curricular innovation, integration and implementation within the IB program and school-wide learning environment. You will recruit, coach and retain mission-aligned faculty while partnering with senior leadership to advance equity and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree required.
• 10+ years in leadership roles across two schools or international boarding contexts.
• Identifies with and can articulate the vision and values of the school.
• Knowledge of diversity, equity, inclusion and access practices.
• Five+ years in administrative roles in secondary education.
• Ten+ years of teaching in multicultural settings and IB Diploma Programme.
• Knowledge of curricular practices and assessment methods.
• Strong judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Teaching and Learning across the program.
• Collaborate with President, Heads of Faculty and IB Coordinator to align curriculum with IB and school mission.
• Supervise departments (IB DP Coordinator, Heads of Faculty, Registrar, Research Support Specialist).
• Support student and faculty achievement through pedagogical leadership.
• Oversee budgeting and strategic initiatives across the education division.
• Promote sustainability and constructive engagement of conflict in school life.
