Job summary

UWC-USA seeks an Associate Head for Teaching and Learning to lead the Educational Division, shaping curricular innovation and ensuring excellence, equity, and inclusive practices across IB and school programs. The role partners with the President and SLT to drive strategic initiatives and improve student outcomes.

The position requires extensive leadership experience in international or United States education, strong consensus-building, and a track record of policy development and staff

Qualifications

• Five or more years of administrative experience in secondary education.
• Ten or more years of successful teaching in a multicultural school and in the IB Diploma Programme.
• Knowledge of best practices in diversity, equity, inclusion and access and the requisite skillfulness to support student and staff growth in this area and to facilitate critical conversations in the design of inclusive curriculum and programs.
• Experience implementing curricular innovations and participation in accreditation processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide pedagogical leadership across the educational program in alignment with mission and values.
• Oversee curriculum development and policy implementation in collaboration with Heads of Faculty and coordinators.
• Coordinate with ISAS/IB for accreditation and authorization processes.
• Lead or participate in annual reviews, policy development, and budgeting for the Educational Division.
• Collaborate with President, SLT, and Board on strategic initiatives spanning academic and co-curricular programs.
• Support faculty recruitment, retention, and professional development.
