Job summary

The University of Georgia seeks a Senior Assistant Director for Learning Technologies to lead and support campus learning technology initiatives. The role requires managing the LMS, guiding a large team, and applying pedagogical knowledge to enhance teaching with technology.

Ideal candidates will have evidence of leadership, LMS administration experience, and collaboration across departments within a large research university. Location is Athens area with full-time responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Experience as a system administrator for Brightspace by D2L.
• Ability to lead and collaborate with campus partners.
• Knowledge of instructional tools used in higher education (e.g., Turnitin, Respondus, Top Hat).
• Knowledge of pedagogical principles for using technology in teaching.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary administrator for UGA’s learning management system and oversee operations.
• Provide training, consultations, and support for instructors and teaching assistants in learning technologies.
• Develop and implement workshops and resources for users of learning technology at UGA.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and recommend LMS integrations and future initiatives.
• Coordinate with EITS and CTL teams to ensure stable operation of the LMS.
