Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Technical Program Manager to join the Network Architecture and Engineering organization. You will translate technical challenges into executable programs, lead high-impact initiatives, and partner with senior leaders to deliver measurable outcomes across the network.

This remote role supports candidates across the U.S. and requires broad network fluency, strategic thinking, and strong program leadership to advance AI-enabled infrastructure and security initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible program management experience supporting complex technical, network, engineering, infrastructure, or transformation initiatives.
• Broad understanding of telecommunications networks, including hardware, software, lifecycle management, and operations.
• Experience translating ambiguous objectives into executable plans, coordinated workstreams, governance, and measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading interdependent initiatives and resolving cross-functional risks and priorities.
• Ability to work across Architecture, Engineering, Planning, Operations, Security, IT, Product, Finance, and leadership.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, influence, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and executive support skills.
• Experience using Jira and related portfolio, reporting, documentation, or analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, high-impact network programs from definition through handoff.
• Create integrated execution frameworks when scope or funding is unclear.
• Orchestrate multiple programs with dependencies, risks, and senior leadership visibility.
• Establish governance, decision rights, rhythms, and success metrics.
• Drive cross-domain sequencing across architecture, build, test, and operations.
• Identify constraints and portfolio-level dependencies beyond single workstreams.
• Anticipate risks in strategy, finance, and vendor relationships before delivery.
• Mentor program managers and raise delivery discipline and governance standards.
• Champion AI-enabled and automated workflows for governance and productivity.
