Job summary

HII Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking an Engineer Lead Test 3 (ELT3) to direct test activities and coordinate with stakeholders across Waterfront Construction Management, Trades, Ship’s Force, vendors, SUPSHIP, NAVSEA, and more. This role requires strong leadership, test planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

The position emphasizes directing module testing, ensuring procedures are signed off for certifications and key events, and managing retest requirements.

Qualifications

• Lead Test Engineer (LTE) or Ship Safety Officer (SSO) or Watch Supervisor/Officer Certification and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Trade REC Coordinator (TRC) and Trade REC Oversight Agent (TROA) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Synthesize customer contractual needs into system test solutions.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules.
• Coordinate integrated testing activities.
• Review and evaluate test requirements for completeness.
• Analyze complete systems and prepare system-level evaluations.
