Job summary

Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is seeking a VCS SEP test supervisor. The role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing testing methods and equipment for naval systems.

You will plan labor, schedules, equipment, and test parameters, compiling data to drive improvements in testing and manufacturing processes. The candidate will oversee testing of customer samples and special tests, requiring a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET accredited) and relevant certifications

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from ABET accredited program.
Certifications: Lead Test Engineer (LTE), Shift Test Engineer (STE), Ship Safety Officer (SSO) or Inactivation Test Engineer (ITE) / Shift Refueling Engineer (SRE).

Responsibilities

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment.
Plans labor, schedules, and equipment for testing and evaluation.
Provides test area parameters, specifies tests, and compiles data.
Defines changes required in testing equipment, procedures, or manufacturing processes.
Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Engineering (ABET accredited)
