Job summary

Actalent in Fort Worth, TX seeks a senior structural engineer to lead design from concept through final design and construction. You will develop calculations, specs, data sheets, and bid summaries, review vendor drawings, and coordinate with clients, designers, and other disciplines on large projects.

The role includes QA/QC reviews, field coordination, report preparation, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting proposals and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Structural Engineering or related discipline from an ABET-accredited program with 7+ years of structural engineering experience, OR Bachelors in Structural/related Engineering Technology from ABET-accredited program, successful FE exam, and 7+ years of experience, OR Masters with 6+ years of experience.
• EPC project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IBC, AISC, ACI, and ASCE 7.
• Experience leading structural design on large projects and delegating work to team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and applicable engineering/design software.
• Ability to travel as needed.
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design from conceptual development through final design and construction.
• Develop designs, calculations, specifications, data sheets, RFQs, and technical bid summaries.
• Review vendor drawings and coordinate with suppliers, clients, designers, and other engineers.
• Participate in scope, scheduling, budgeting, staffing, and construction planning.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, drawings, and project documentation.
• Lead field inspections, measurements, and testing activities as needed.
• Prepare and present technical reports to stakeholders.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and coordinate with other disciplines.
• Support proposals, cost estimates, and project pursuits.
