Job summary

Burrow Global, LLC in Baytown, TX seeks a Principal Lead Piping Designer to drive detailed piping design and 3D modeling for a long-term project. You will lead piping deliverables under the Piping Lead, coordinating with PMs, engineering managers, and field reps to meet schedule and budget.

Responsibilities include creating 3D models in SmartPlant 3D, generating isometrics and drawings, performing clash checks, and maintaining piping documentation.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of piping design experience, including brownfield engineering.
• Advanced proficiency in SmartPlant 3D (S3D) and CAD tools.
• Experience with Leica laser scanning.
• In-depth knowledge of piping systems, layouts, specs, and standards.
• Strong quality control and model validation skills.
• Piping Designer Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify 3D piping models using S3D and generate 2D drawings.
• Perform clash detection and field verification to resolve issues.
• Support project execution, expediting critical piping items.
• Draft and maintain piping documentation (line/valve lists, P&IDs redlines).
• Collaborate across disciplines and prepare for model reviews.
• Adhere to standards and ensure quality, reliability, and cost targets.
• Assist commissioning and start-up activities.
