Job summary

Taurus Industrial Group is seeking a Pipe Designer to join our Freeport, Texas design team. This role covers 2D and 3D piping design, including P&IDs, isometrics, and general arrangements, with collaboration across engineering disciplines.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in piping/mechanical engineering and have 7–12 years of piping systems design experience, including petrochemical or refinery projects. Local candidates strongly preferred for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Degree in piping/mechanical engineering.
• Proven 3D modeling experience.
• Experience developing drawings in AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of pipe stress, pipe supports and fabrication design.
• 7–12 years piping systems design experience.
• Petrochemical and/or refinery project experience.
• Team player able to coordinate with other disciplines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to balance priorities and meet deadlines.
• Safety and detail-focused.

Responsibilities

• Complete piping design and layouts in 2D & 3D software.
• Prepare General Arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics and line lists.
• Coordinate with engineers and supervisors for design requirements.
• Prepare material takeoffs and field sketches.
• Review vendor/shop/construction drawings as needed.
• Provide piping discipline leadership on projects.
• Ensure compliance with client standards and quality requirements.
• Allocate manpower and monitor project progress.
• Develop project scope documents and installation standards.
• Provide estimates for engineering work.
