Job summary

First American Bank seeks a Senior Lead Networking Specialist to design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructures across LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, wireless, and data centers in the Chicagoland area.

You will lead major projects, ensure high availability, and collaborate with the Security team on risk assessments while mentoring junior engineers and producing clear technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with emphasis on Computer Science and MIS.
• Five+ years of IT infrastructure and networking experience.
• Strong background in scalable, highly available, mission-critical networks.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco and Palo Alto networks required.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
• Experience implementing WIFI and VOIP QOS policies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and document networks (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN).
• Lead major network projects to support capacity growth and upgrades.
• Maintain up-to-date standards and security best practices for networking.
• Prepare technical documentation and end-user training.
• Plan end-to-end network engineering and forecasting efforts.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior engineers.
• Collaborate with Information Security to assess network threats.
