Job summary

JPMorganChase & Co. is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer in Jersey City to architect and build high-performance Java Spring Boot services on AWS. You will own production outcomes, guide architecture decisions, and drive reliability across distributed systems supporting AI and data platforms.

You will design cloud-native, low-latency solutions, implement infra-as-code, and lead design reviews while mentoring engineers and collaborating with data scientists and platform teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on Java development with Spring Boot.
• Experience designing low-latency production distributed systems.
• Hands-on with AWS services (S3, ECS/EKS, Lambda, MSK, SQS).
• Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation for cloud deployments.
• Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk).
• Strong OO programming, API design, testing and debugging.
• Excellent communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Architect low-latency Java Spring Boot distributed services with well-defined APIs.
• Design cloud-native architectures with 3–5 nines HA on AWS services.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Implement observability and alerting with Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
• Translate evolving requirements into stable service designs.
• Lead design reviews and promote engineering best practices.
• Own production outcomes end-to-end and resolve bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with ML/data scientists to meet platform needs.
• Mentor engineers and promote ownership and learning.
