Job summary

UMass Boston seeks a Senior Assistant Director of First-Year Recruitment to join the Undergraduate Admissions Office. You will lead recruitment activities, build partnerships with high schools and community organizations, and use data-driven strategies to convert prospects into enrolled students.

The role requires 3–5 years in college admissions, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple programs and events, including evenings and weekends in a Boston-based role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years in post-secondary undergraduate admissions with demonstrated success in communication and management.
• Experience in recruitment, applicant reading and counseling students; leadership or experience managing groups or programs.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; understanding of first-year student recruitment and enrollment.
• Familiarity with CRM software; strong data background for goal setting and recruitment planning.

Responsibilities

• Conduct recruitment activities, including scheduling on- and off-campus visits and partnerships with high schools, community colleges and community agencies.
• Monitor prospects and applications by territory; develop strategies to convert to enrolled students.
• Review applications and render admission decisions to meet enrollment goals.
• Conduct information sessions and provide career and enrollment counseling.
• Track and analyze prospect and applicant data related to access programs; generate reports.
