New York Life is seeking a Senior / Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise integrations, DevOps, cloud platforms, APIs, and backend applications in a hybrid environment in New York, NY. The role includes ownership of design, development, and production support, with hands-on coding about 10–20% of the time, and a focus on AI-assisted engineering.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering, integration engineering, or related experience.

Responsibilities

Define architecture and technical solutions for enterprise integrations across systems and cloud platforms.
Provide technical leadership through design, development, testing, and production support.
Develop, review, and troubleshoot Java backend applications with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Maven.
Design and troubleshoot AWS solutions using API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, and networking components.
Lead API and enterprise integration design, including authentication, connectivity, and data flows.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership in a fast-paced environment.
