New York Life’s Technology, Data, AI and Ventures (TDAV) organization seeks a Senior/Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership across enterprise integrations, DevOps, cloud platforms, APIs, and backend applications.

This senior role blends solution architecture, integration engineering, software development, and cross-team leadership, with approximately 10–20% hands-on coding. AI-assisted engineering is a core requirement for this role.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering or related experience.
Strong Java backend development with Spring Boot, REST, and Maven.
Experience defining solution architecture and leading enterprise integrations.
Strong AWS architecture and engineering knowledge.
Experience with authentication and secure integration patterns (OAuth 2.0, SAML, JWT, and mTLS).
Ability to mentor and lead other engineers.

Responsibilities

Define architecture and technical solutions for integrations between systems and cloud services.
Provide technical leadership through design, development, testing, deployment, and operations.
Develop, review, and troubleshoot Java backend applications using Spring Boot and REST.
Design and troubleshoot AWS solutions including API Gateway, Lambda, EC2, and more.
Lead API and enterprise integration design with secure patterns.
Communicate changes and coordinate readiness and migrations.
Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
