Job summary

New York Life is seeking a Senior Engineer, Institutional Life Technology, to design, implement, and operate data platforms on AWS and Salesforce ecosystems. This role focuses on data engineering, AI-enabled applications, and secure production operations within a regulated financial-services framework.

You will lead integration efforts across AWS, Salesforce, and IL Quick, building scalable data pipelines, AI workflows, and governance controls while collaborating with architects and business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in software/data/cloud engineering or related technology disciplines.
• 1+ year hands‑on AI/LLM production experience.
• Hands‑on AWS engineering with S3, Glue/PySpark, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, plus SQL, DBT, Terraform, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Salesforce development or integration experience with Apex, Flow, CDC, SFDX.
• Strong Python and SQL skills; data pipelines, APIs, integrations, automation, or production apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize AWS data solutions (Glue/PySpark, Redshift, Lambda, Step Functions).
• Develop and integrate Salesforce solutions (Apex, Flow, CDC, SFDX).
• Build AI-enabled and RAG solutions using Bedrock and IL Quick.
• Create IL Quick apps, workflows, automations, agents, and analytics with security and governance.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve monitoring/runbooks, and drive reliability improvements.
