Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the United States is seeking a Senior Lead Project Engineer to drive technical execution for Battery Energy Storage Systems and renewable integration. You will lead design, engineering, and delivery from concept to commissioning, shaping SCADA configurations and inverter controls while collaborating across supply chain and customers.

The role emphasizes independent and collaborative work, with a focus on compliant, high-impact energy solutions for a sustainable grid.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5+ years in power systems or energy storage
Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience
Experience with SCADA and automation protocols (Modbus, DNP)
Strong electrical engineering and industrial software aptitude
Ability to work independently and across teams
Must have US work authorization for Hitachi Energy in the US

Responsibilities

Lead technical execution of BESS and renewable energy projects with project management
Review and approve design deliverables and project documentation
Define control system narratives and SCADA configurations for energy applications
Support proposal development and respond to RFIs and RFPs
Collaborate with supply chain to evaluate and approve technical solutions
Manage project risks and develop mitigation strategies
Interface with customers to deliver tailored engineering solutions
Share technical knowledge and support internal training and testing
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines
