Job summary

Altom Transport is seeking a Lead Diesel Mechanic to spearhead maintenance at our Harrison, Ohio terminal and guide other technicians. You will diagnose and repair heavy trucks, ensuring safety and uptime for our Class 8 fleet.

You will lead shop operations, oversee diagnostics, and coordinate preventative maintenance while maintaining organized records and complying with company and DOT safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working on Class 8 trucks or heavy diesel equipment.
• Strong mechanical diagnostic and repair skills.
• Basic tools required for diesel repair work.
• Ability to assist and guide other technicians.
• Strong attention to safety and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead shop operations and coordinate daily workflow.
• Diagnose and repair Class 8 tractors and tanker trailers; supervise diagnostics and repairs.
• Ensure DOT and company safety standards are met; maintain repair documentation.
