Job summary

Vaco is seeking a Senior Lead Database Platform Engineer to head architecture and modernization of enterprise database platforms in a large-scale environment. You will operate at the intersection of database engineering, platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, security, and automation to design scalable, high-availability database services.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership across MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases, with strong Azure-based architecture, IaC, and automation

Qualifications

• 7+ years in database, infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering.
• Strong Azure cloud architecture background and experience with MongoDB, Redis, and graph DBs.
• Hands-on Terraform and Ansible automation expertise.
• Proven ability to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infra deployments.
• Experience with IaC and platform engineering principles for scalable DB platforms.
• Design for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and engineering strategy for enterprise DB platforms.
• Lead DB engineering across MongoDB, Redis, and graph databases.
• Design scalable, secure, and resilient DB solutions.
• Develop automation frameworks, templates, and provisioning workflows.
• Build self-service, API-driven DB platforms.
• Drive adoption of Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Collaborate with cloud, security, and ops teams.
• Establish architecture standards, governance, and best practices.
• Lead performance engineering, capacity planning, and DB optimization.
• Enable Kubernetes/operator-based DB management solutions.
