Job summary

CCC Intelligent Solutions is seeking a Lead Database Platform Engineer to drive strategy, architecture, reliability, and modernization of our enterprise database ecosystem. The role leads a team of engineers and partners across Engineering, SRE, DevOps, Architecture, and Product Development to ensure secure, highly available, and scalable database platforms in cloud and hybrid environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent.
8+ years of experience supporting enterprise-scale, mission-critical database environments.
Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring engineers in complex operational environments.
Experience leading complex infrastructure, cloud, or database modernization initiatives.
Experience managing database upgrades, patching strategies, and platform lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

Serve as the technical leader and subject matter expert for CCC's database platform strategy and roadmap.
Lead design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-scale database solutions across SQL Server and cloud-native technologies.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to a team of database engineers and offshore resources.
Partner with Product Development, Architecture, SRE, and DevOps teams to design highly available and scalable databases.
Drive automation initiatives that improve deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Champion AI and intelligent automation to increase productivity and reduce manual tasks.
Lead platform initiatives including upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformations.
Establish best practices for database administration, security, and resiliency.
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate solutions and support platform decisions.
Participate in incident management, RCA, problem management, and DR planning.
Develop and maintain operational documentation and architecture standards.
