Job summary

JPMorganChase seeks a Senior Lead Software Engineer to architect and deliver an enterprise-scale data platform enabling trusted risk data products in a secure, scalable manner. You will lead architecture decisions, mentor teams, and collaborate with senior leaders to govern data across the organization.

You will drive modernization, implement AI-assisted engineering practices, and ensure production-grade delivery with strong governance and security focus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on architecture and delivery of large-scale data platforms.
• Proficiency in Python and Java/Scala and SQL in production systems.
• Experience with multi-tenant lakehouse/data mesh architectures.
• Cloud-native experience with AWS, IaC and CI/CD in governed environments.
• Strong data governance and security expertise.
• Leadership with mentorship of senior engineers and leads.

Responsibilities

• Owns the technical direction of the platform and lead architecture/design leveraging Lakehouse on Databricks and AWS.
• Delivers secure production-grade code for data pipelines across batch, streaming, and CDC.
• Scales tenant onboarding through automated onboarding, provisioning, and orchestration.
• Builds infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines with Terraform and CI/CD controls.
• Implements data governance, entitlements, and data protection within the platform design.
• Defines SLOs/SLAs, instrumentation, and leads incident/root-cause analysis with SRE.
• Acts as SME for risk data engineering and guides architecture trade-offs and data quality.
• Drives modernization and evaluates new tech balancing cost and security.
• Advocates enterprise AI-assisted engineering with validation for correctness and performance.
• Influences senior stakeholders across Risk and Technology to align roadmaps.
• Fosters high-performing engineering culture through mentoring and ownership.
