Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer in New Jersey to join the Commercial & Investment Banking – Data Analytics – Payments Technology team.

You will be a core technical contributor, building trusted, scalable data products and governance-enabled pipelines in a secure environment. You will lead the design, development, and operation of complex data pipelines using Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and Flink, and collaborate with product and analytics teams to deliver production-grade

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience focused on software engineering or data platform development.
• Advanced in Python, Java and SQL.
• Experience with Spark and Flink for distributed data processing.
• Data modeling knowledge and query optimization.
• Experience with Databricks and Airflow for data pipelines.
• Cloud services and Kubernetes for scalable platforms.
• CI/CD, security practices, and governance awareness.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and tackles complex problems beyond routine approaches.
• Designs, builds, and maintains scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Develops data platform components with governance and lineage.
• Implements data modeling strategies to support analytics and reporting.
• Partners with analytics teams to translate data requirements into production-grade solutions.
• Develops production-grade code and reviews others' work.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation and improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and internal teams on architecture.
