Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Lead Data Governance Architect to drive the governance tech program within the Telemetry, Observability & Technology team. You will lead the governance catalog rollout across Informatica Cloud, implement Unity Catalog, and oversee identity integration with SailPoint, while mentoring a small team of data governance engineers.

You will collaborate with Data Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, and Information Security to embed governance into platforms from the start,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or governance tooling implementation.
• Hands-on implementation experience with Informatica CDGC.
• Experience implementing Databricks Unity Catalog, including catalog hierarchies and RBAC.
• Experience leading technical delivery for a small team in a complex environment.
• Experience with data quality tooling (Validio, Great Expectations, Soda or equivalent).
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for automated workflows and data transformations.

Responsibilities

• Lead full implementation of the enterprise governance catalog (Informatica CDGC) including taxonomy design and lineage mapping across legacy and modern platforms.
• Define implementation patterns and serve as main technical escalation point; mentor team members.
• Oversee rollout of observability tooling and design data quality rule framework and alerts.
• Lead technical assessment work; build test environments and produce findings for new tools.
• Coordinate SailPoint integration design; translate identity-to-governance mappings.
• Deliver phased governance technology roadmap from Unity Catalog to policy enforcement.
• Design automated metadata ingestion, data quality deployment, and alert-driven workflows.
