Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Biology, seeks a Researcher Senior Lead to serve as the application development lead for Cayo Hub, coordinating data intake, management, and analysis across an NIH U19 project.

You will guide software development, APIs, and interfaces to support large-scale multi-omic and phenotypic datasets, leading a multidisciplinary team toward data-driven aging research goals.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or Master’s degree in a related field with required experience.
• Work experience cannot substitute for education requirement.
• Bachelor’s degree with five years of related experience also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the expansion of an existing project database.
• Develop interfaces and APIs for data access and visualization.
• Build web interfaces for dissemination of behavioral and biological data.
• Coordinate intake pipelines across multi-institution teams.
• Shape workflows for data management and validation; oversee QC processes.
• Organize working group meetings on data integration practices.
• Lead development updates with project leadership to meet milestones.
• Document technical reports, data summaries, and data-use agreements.
