Job summary

The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Biology, seeks a Researcher Senior Lead to serve as the application development lead for Cayo Hub, integrating large-scale datasets from nonhuman primates and multi-omic data. You will guide database expansion, APIs, and web interfaces.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience OR Master's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience OR Bachelor's degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
• Strong leadership and managerial skills for collaborative software development.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and reproducible computational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the collaborative expansion of an existing project database.
• Lead the development of APIs for accessing and visualizing project data.
• Lead the development of web-based user interfaces for dissemination and visualization of behavioral and biological data.
• Collaborate with a multi-institution team to coordinate intake pipelines for data and metadata.
• Coordinate weekly office hours to offer feedback to collaboration researchers.
• Establish quality control procedures and pipelines for data integrity.
• Organize working group meetings on data integration practices.
• Coordinate online meetings to provide development updates and milestone progress.
• Develop and document technical reports, white papers, and data use agreements.
