Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer to help build a trusted Global Know Your Customer and Risk Assessment Data Platform. You will lead an agile data engineering team delivering secure, scalable systems across portfolios, with emphasis on AI-enabled tooling and robust governance.

You will design and implement production-grade software, mentor engineers, and drive best practices across the SDLC, including responsible AI usage and governance in regulated financial services

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying production AI/ML systems, including LLM-based applications and agentic architectures with tool use.
• Expert in one or more programming languages, particularly Python and/or Java.
• Advanced knowledge of software development processes with depth in cloud, AI/ML, or data engineering.
• Experience leading use of enterprise AI-assisted development tools and setting team expectations for AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling in regulated environments.
• Experience in large-scale data processing, microservices, API design, Kafka, Redis, observability tools, and orchestration frameworks.
• Relational and NoSQL databases, vector stores, data lake architectures, and data governance. Cloud-native experience (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Ability to present and communicate effectively with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develops secure, high-quality production code for data-intensive applications and platforms, and mentors other engineers.
• Creates durable, reusable software frameworks and patterns used across teams.
• Designs and governs agentic AI systems, including multi-agent workflows and human-in-the-loop controls for regulated environments.
• Drives adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies SDLC tools to improve automation and value realization at scale.
• Establishes engineering standards for LLM-based applications with safety, observability, and reproducibility.
• Advances adoption of modern engineering methods aligned with industry standards and product development.
• Advises cross-functional teams on technological matters within domain expertise.
