Job summary

The Will Group's Power Division is seeking a Senior Electrical Distribution Designer to lead high‑voltage distribution design work and mentor engineers. This mostly remote role includes occasional Shorewood, IL site duties, field‑to‑construction design oversight, and major utility project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of utility distribution, power delivery, or utility consulting experience.
• Strong understanding of utility standards and construction practices.
• Experience with GIS, work management, and utility design platforms.
• Ability to independently solve complex technical problems.
• Strong communication and client coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead overhead and underground distribution designs typically ranging from 4 kV to 34 kV.
• Take ownership from field information and concept development through construction-ready design packages.
• Support projects for Commonwealth Edison (ComEd) and other Exelon operating companies.
• Become a go-to resource for complex design challenges and help shape TWG's standards and best practices.
• Help elevate Designers, Junior Designers, Engineering Associates, and Project Engineers.
