Job summary

The Will Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Distribution Designer in Shorewood, IL to lead complex 4 kV–34 kV projects and deliver construction-ready design packages. You will act as a senior technical resource collaborating with utilities and internal teams.

The role emphasizes field-informed design excellence, constructability, and adherence to standards, with opportunities to mentor others and shape technical best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electric utility distribution.
• Experience designing overhead and/or underground distribution systems.
• Strong understanding of utility standards and field conditions.
• Proficiency with GIS, work management, and design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development of complex distribution projects from 4 kV to 34 kV.
• Develop construction-ready design packages from field information.
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, and compliance.
• Mentor and develop junior designers and engineers.
• Support project planning and technical coordination.
• Participate in client meetings and technical discussions.
