Job summary

Frederick County Government seeks a seasoned supervisor to lead the Leachate Treatment Plant and related stormwater systems. You will direct technical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage day-to-day operations with focus on safety and reliability.

Responsibilities include coordinating maintenance, supervising personnel, reviewing plans, and ensuring wastewater treatment meets all local, state, and federal standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years in water or wastewater treatment operations with 3 years supervising staff.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to supervise project teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel and maintain proper operation of leachate and stormwater systems.
• Oversee day-to-day operations and conduct administrative work for programs.
• Resolve routine and emergency treatment facility issues and schedule maintenance.
• Ensure staff have proper equipment and supplies for operations.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and monitor changes affecting operations.
• Schedule internal and external contractors to support maintenance and operations.
