Job summary

Arch Insurance Group Inc. is seeking a Claims professional for the Professional Liability team focused on Lawyers Professional Liability. The role involves actively managing professional liability claims across jurisdictions in the United States.

You will develop and implement resolution strategies, assess coverage issues, and coordinate with underwriters, defense counsel, program managers and brokers to manage reserves and outcomes. Travel up to 15% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and JD required.
• 3–7 years of experience with a primary or excess carrier, broker, or law firm supporting commercial accounts for specialty insurance claims.
• Active adjuster licensing in all applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement timely and accurate resolution strategies to mitigate indemnity and expense exposure.
• Develop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues aligning with the matter’s overall strategy.
• Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel when necessary.
• Maintain contact with the leader, underwriter, defense counsel, program manager, and broker to communicate developments and outcomes.
• Investigate claims and review insured materials, pleadings, and other relevant documents.
• Identify and review applicable statutes, rules, and case law by jurisdiction.
• Analyze and direct risk transfer, additional insured issues, and contractual indemnity issues.
• Retain counsel when necessary and direct counsel per resolution strategy.
• Analyze coverage, liability and damages for reserves evaluation.
• Prepare and present written/oral reports to senior management on issues influencing evaluation and reserves.
• Maintain a diary of all claims and respond to inquiries from insured, counsel, underwriters, brokers, and senior management.
