Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an Associate Recruiting Manager - Lateral Associates to lead strategic recruiting across NY, Chicago, or Washington D.C. offices. Hybrid work is possible with in-office presence, collaborating with practice, department and office leaders.

The role requires 7+ years in legal recruitment and 2+ years leading teams, plus strong data-driven decision making and market insights to shape hiring strategies.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent.
• At least seven (7) years of experience in legal recruitment.
• At least two (2) years of experience leading, supervising, or developing others.
• Experience using data and market information to identify trends and support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to understand hiring needs and develop tailored lateral associate recruiting strategies.
• Provide market intelligence, candidate insights, and guidance throughout the recruiting process.
• Lead lateral associate searches from strategy through offers and hiring.
• Capitalise on direct sourcing, referrals, search firms and other channels to recruit.
• Manage relationships with external search firms and vendors, evaluating performance and fees.
• Prepare recruiting statistics, market updates, and progress reports aligned with practice needs.
• Organise staff work, delegate, and perform performance evaluations with strong leadership.
• Protect confidential and sensitive information handled by Latham & Watkins.
