Job summary

Latham & Watkins is seeking an Associate Recruiting Manager - Lateral Associates to shape how the firm attracts top lateral talent across practice groups, working with partners and office leaders.

You will provide market intelligence, develop tailored recruiting plans, lead searches from planning to hire, and mentor recruiting team members while coordinating with external search firms. Hybrid schedule in DC/NY/Chicago options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum seven (7) years in legal recruitment, preferably with ownership over lateral associate recruiting.
• Minimum of two (2) years leading, supervising, or developing others.
• Experience using data and market information to identify trends and support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to understand hiring needs and develop tailored lateral associate recruiting strategies.
• Provide market intelligence, candidate insights, and guidance throughout the process.
• Lead lateral searches from strategy through interviews, offers, and hires.
• Source candidates via direct sourcing, referrals, search firms, and other channels.
• Manage relationships with external search firms and vendors, including negotiating fees.
• Prepare recruiting statistics, market updates, and progress reports.
• Organize staff work, delegate tasks, and conduct performance evaluations.
