Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a senior field property claims adjuster to investigate and settle high-exposure homeowner claims. The role requires on-site field work across the region with potential travel to offices for meetings and training.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, evaluating damages, and negotiating settlements while maintaining strong customer service and policy knowledge. A valid license and ability to travel are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to handle 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across our operating territories.
• Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service.
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently and effectively handle complex claims.
• Extensive knowledge of policies and endorsements coverages.
• Successfully applied knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of high exposure claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and others.
• Participates in High Damage Reviews (HDR) to address coverage issues and exposure.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policy types.
• Conducts on-site inspections when needed and negotiates with insureds, claimants, attorneys.
• Responds to customer inquiries and closes files.
• Interprets policies and endorsements and applies to assigned losses.
• Makes independent decisions and escalates when needed.
• Provides guidance to less experienced adjusters.
• May participate in projects based on skills and experience.
