Job summary

Mission Recruiting, LLC is seeking a Senior Large Loss / Excess Attorney for a remote role with travel for in-person appearances. The position carries a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement and focuses on high-exposure large loss matters.

The successful candidate will independently manage sophisticated litigation, develop strategy, and guide clients through all stages of litigation, with opportunities for discretionary bonuses based on production and origination.

Qualifications

• Senior-level attorney with substantial litigation experience.
• Experience handling complex matters with significant financial exposure.
• Strong litigation strategy, legal writing, negotiation, and case-management skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage sophisticated matters.
• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex, high-exposure litigation matters from start to resolution.
• Develop and execute litigation strategy including liability, damages, exposure, and settlement opportunities.
• Lead discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other significant litigation documents.
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Coordinate with clients, insurers, co-counsel, experts, and other parties as appropriate.
• Provide timely guidance regarding litigation developments, material risks, and recommended next steps.
• Maintain accurate insurance defense billing and comply with carrier litigation guidelines.
