Job summary

American Electric Power in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced economist/forecasting professional to lead large-load forecasting and reporting efforts. You will collaborate with operating companies, FP&A, and regulatory teams to ensure forecasts reflect contractual commitments, customer development pipelines, and regulatory requirements.

The role includes ownership of Large Load assumptions, scenario planning, and executive reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, operations research, statistics, economics, data science, computer science or related technical field is required.
• 8 years of experience required; equivalent combinations may be considered.
• Exposure to SAS, R, Python and PowerBI is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Large Load forecasting and reporting processes with internal systems and FP&A coordination.
• Support regulatory filings and RTO processes related to Large Load.
• Develop and own Large Load forecasting assumptions for annual load forecasts and strategic planning.
• Prepare narratives and insights for FP&A leadership and investor communications.
• Maintain Large Load data sets and dashboards.
