Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Practice Builder) to expand its Landscape Architecture practice in Orlando, FL. This leader will build a vision for growth, manage client relationships, and guide a team while pursuing high-end design and complex projects.

The role emphasizes business development, team mentorship, and autonomy to grow the practice and individual portfolios, with performance-based rewards and a path toward ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience growing and leading a landscape architecture practice/studio.
• PLA/CLA license or ability to obtain in 1 year.
• Experience developing relationships with extensive client contacts.
• Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
• Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients, solving project problems and delivering with the team.
• Ability to communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects for a wide variety of clients.
• Manage, lead, and expand practice teams for high end design and technically complicated projects.
• Project experience will be diverse as we provide services to both public and private sectors.
• Has an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for the high end design practice and beyond.
• Given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business.
• Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor.
