TYG Landscape Architecture, an established design-build practice, is seeking a Senior Landscape Architect / Project Lead to guide the design and delivery of high-end urban landscapes across the New York metropolitan area, including rooftop gardens, terraces, courtyards, and waterfront spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Strong portfolio showing design and built work.
• Experience delivering rooftop landscapes and other urban projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with SketchUp/Rhino/Lumion.
• Knowledge of landscape construction, drainage, irrigation, waterproofing, and rooftop design.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from concept through construction administration.

Job description

An established landscape design-build practice is seeking an experienced Senior Landscape Architect / Project Lead to lead the design and delivery of high-end urban landscapes, including rooftop gardens, terraces, courtyards, waterfront spaces, and outdoor amenity environments across the New York metropolitan area.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team that delivers projects from initial concept through construction, working at the intersection of landscape architecture, technical detailing, and project execution. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects throughout the entire design and construction process while helping shape exceptional outdoor environments in challenging urban settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead landscape architecture projects from concept design through construction administration.
• Develop innovative design solutions for rooftop gardens, terraces, plazas, courtyards, waterfronts, and outdoor amenity spaces.
• Present designs to clients and coordinate closely with architects, developers, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Produce and oversee high-quality construction documentation, technical detailing, planting plans, and material specifications.
• Design for complex urban environments, considering structural loading, drainage, waterproofing, irrigation, wind exposure, and long-term performance.
• Mentor and support junior designers through all phases of project delivery.
• Attend site visits, review construction progress, resolve field conditions, and ensure design intent is maintained.
• Collaborate with internal construction, estimating, procurement, and project management teams to ensure projects remain aligned with budget, schedule, and buildability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating both creative design and completed built work.
• Experience delivering rooftop landscapes, terraces, podiums, courtyards, mixed-use developments, or other technically complex urban projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, with experience using SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, or comparable 3D visualisation software.
• Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, planting systems, hardscape detailing, drainage, irrigation, waterproofing coordination, and rooftop design.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional technical and design standards.
