Job description

Landscape Architect | Long Island

A well-established New York multidisciplinary design practice is growing its Landscape Architecture team in Patchogue and is looking for an experienced Landscape Architect who wants greater ownership of projects and exposure to the full design process.

What you’ll be working on

The portfolio is varied, with a strong focus on public and community-focused projects across Long Island and New York, including:

  • Parks and public spaces
  • K-12 and higher education campuses
  • Athletic and recreational facilities
  • Municipal projects
  • Hardscape, planting and site improvements
  • Grading, drainage and stormwater design

You’ll work closely with an in-house team of Landscape Architects, Architects and Engineers, giving you the opportunity to solve projects collaboratively rather than working within an isolated landscape team.

Where you’ll make an impact

You’ll be trusted to take projects through the full lifecycle — developing concepts, coordinating technical design, producing construction documentation and working with the wider team through delivery.

There’s also scope to work directly with clients, take greater project responsibility and mentor junior designers as you develop within the practice.

What would make you a strong fit

A background in Landscape Architecture with a good balance of design and technical delivery experience. You should be comfortable with AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite, with SketchUp or similar 3D software also valuable.

Experience across public realm, education, municipal, parks or recreation projects would translate particularly well.

Knowledge of planting design, horticulture, sustainability, stormwater or ecology would also be welcomed.

Why consider it?

This is a long-established practice with an unusually high level of staff retention, offering the stability of an established business alongside the opportunity to take meaningful ownership of projects.

The package includes

  • competitive compensation, healthcare, dental and vision coverage, 401(k), PTO and support towards professional development and licensing.
