Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or related field required.
• Eight years of experience operating a solid waste landfill facility with four years supervisory experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates staff, develops work schedules, reviews timesheets, and administers discipline when necessary.
• Plans and coordinates crew activities, estimates materials, and plans safety training.
• Manages landfill capital improvement projects and contractor procurement opportunities.
• Develops operating budgets and monitors tonnage, gas flow, and leachate production.
• Implements departmental policies and conducts safety meetings and regulatory training.
• Interprets environmental directives and conducts field inspections with regulators.
• Ensures equipment availability, maintenance, and procurement of supplies.
• Collaborates with Fleet Maintenance to ensure equipment readiness and investigates failures.
• Oversees maintenance of facilities and administration buildings.
• Manages all operations, employees, and equipment related to crematory.
• Responds to emergencies after hours and on weekends.
