Job summary

WM is seeking an experienced landfill operations leader to manage day-to-day activities, ensuring safety and environmental compliance while optimizing efficiency. The role focuses on construction oversight, permitting processes, leachate and gas management, and continuous improvement of operations.

The position requires strong leadership for budgeting, staff development, vendor coordination, and adherence to corporate safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (accredited) required or equivalent experience.
• High School Diploma or GED plus four years relevant work experience.
• Total of 7 years relevant work experience beyond education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensures smooth operation of landfill: ongoing construction, permitting, leachate/gas management.
• Minimizes operational costs while maintaining safety and environmental compliance.
• Oversees personnel needs including selecting, coaching, training, and evaluating employees.
