Job summary

DeKalb County is seeking an Environmental Inspection Supervisor to oversee environmental and erosion/sedimentation inspections for land disturbance activities in accordance with county code and GSMM.

You will lead inspection staff, enforce NPDES and BMP standards, and report on compliance while coordinating with other departments. Requires an associate degree and 5 years in inspections or related fields with supervisory experience; ICC or GA certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering, construction management, environmental science or related field.
• Five years of inspections/engineering/construction management with supervisory experience.
• ICC Residential and Commercial Building Inspections OR Georgia Level 1B certification; valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, evaluates staff, manages schedules, timesheets and disciplinary actions.
• Organizes work, assigns tasks, ensures resources and track progress with management reports.
• Reviews documentation including inspection reports, erosion and stormwater plans, payroll and forms; maintains records.
