Job summary

Hirschler seeks a Land Use Planning & Entitlements Manager to join our Real Estate team on site in Fredericksburg. You will work closely with attorneys to manage large, multi-disciplinary projects through the zoning and entitlement process and other land use development matters.

The ideal candidate will coordinate between attorneys, clients, consultants and municipal staff, and will have 3–5 years of experience in land use planning or a related field, with strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in land use planning or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience supporting a real estate/land use practice or related setting.
• Knowledge of land use, zoning, planning processes and development.
• Ability to learn laws, codes, and ordinances affecting land use.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare applications and documentation for land use matters (zoning relief, changes, approvals).
• Draft findings, project descriptions, and statements of justification; conduct code research.
• Review zoning exhibits, plats, and coordinate with consultants.
• Manage state and local lobbying registration and reporting.
• Prepare economic disclosure statements and interact with municipal staff.
• Assist in documents for property acquisition, development, and disposition.
• Support land development and subdivision processes, including rezoning and variances.
• Prepare and update graphics/maps; attend planning meetings and present to boards.
