The attorney will represent developers, property owners, investors, and businesses in broad real estate disputes and regulatory matters, including land use, zoning, tax appeals, and eminent domain.

The role emphasizes client counseling, strategic risk assessment, and drafting, with involvement in hearings, trials, and appeals.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia State Bar membership or eligibility.
• 6–9 years of real estate litigation experience.
• Experience with land use, zoning, condemnation, and tax appeals.
• Excellent drafting, analysis, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage matters independently while collaborating with clients and colleagues.
• Strong client counseling and strategic advice.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in real estate, land use, zoning, condemnation, and property rights disputes in state and federal courts.
• Handle tax appeals, eminent domain, and zoning challenges.
• Advise on land use entitlements, CUPs, rezonings, and comprehensive plan amendments.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Collaborate with planners, engineers, appraisers, and officials.
• Manage matters from inception through resolution including hearings and appeals.
